Aims and Objectives
Welcome to New Forest Care Homes Ltd., a not-for-profit charity organisation dedicated to providing exceptional care to older people. Established in 1977, our purpose-built home prioritises both the physical and emotional well-being of our residents. Conveniently located near the New Forest and the beaches of Barton on Sea and Milford on Sea, we offer a tranquil and supportive environment.
Our Services
We specialise in respite and residential care. However, we also offer long-term and trial care. Our care is built upon our core principles of respect and kindness. We foster a culture that embraces these values for everyone who lives and works in our home.
Our Mission
Our mission is to deliver person-centred care that meets the needs and wishes of each individual at all times. We are dedicated to providing high-quality care that treats individuals with respect and dignity, protects their privacy, and supports their personal choices and decision-making.
Who We Serve
Our home welcomes individuals over 65 years old who may have sensory impairments, physical disabilities, and require support with various aspects of daily living. We also cater to those who are frail or seek companionship. Our services include respite care and end-of-life support, recognising that a friendly face each day can significantly enhance a person’s well-being.
Our Team
Our management team is led by Ieva Silina, our Registered Manager, who has over 15 years of experience in social care and holds a Level 5 qualification in Health and Social Care. Ieva is committed to ensuring that every resident receives the care they need and that New Milton House remains a warm and friendly place for all.
She is supported by Melanie Bradford, our Deputy Manager, who has extensive experience in both the care industry and HR administration.
Staff Recruitment and Training
We maintain a stringent recruitment process, requiring all care workers to have an Enhanced DBS disclosure before employment. We also request references, including from the most recent employer, and require a full employment history. New employees undergo a comprehensive induction course and shadow experienced staff before working independently. This induction covers company policies and procedures, moving and positioning, medication, infection control, safeguarding, health and safety and the role of a care worker.
Our staff continually update their training with refresher courses throughout the year, ensuring they remain current with new regulations, policies and procedures. Additionally, we provide specialist training as needed, depending on the specific needs of our residents, such as diabetes management, Parkinson’s care, catheter care, continence care, visual impairment and speech impairment.
Collaboration with Healthcare Professionals
We work closely with local GP surgeries, District Nurses, and Occupational Therapists to ensure we deliver the highest standard of care for our residents. We support residents with their medication needs, nutrition and hydration, personal care and emotional and social well-being.
Regulated Activities
We are registered by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for the regulated activity of providing
“Accommodation for persons who require nursing or personal care.”
